Friendship Heights is a very small neighborhood in both Maryland and Washington DC. Many consider it to be part of Chevy Chase, an affluent town in Maryland and D.C. Friendship Heights centers mostly around the retail industry, though it also has several office buildings and many broadcast media outlets call it home. Many refer to it as DC's Rodeo Drive. Friendship Heights is a lovely area, though it is expensive to live here. The residential areas of Friendship Heights are idyllic, as there are many cozy homes and manicured lawns. You can tell people really take pride in their homes here. Incorporated within Friendship Heights is Friendship Village, a seperate entity for tax reasons.

Centered on Jennifer St and Wisconsin Ave. NW, Friendship Heights is a commercial district with plenty to offer. The best way to get to Friendship Heights is the subway, because Friendship Heights in directly on a subway line. Street parking is virtually non-existent, but there are parking lots.
The biggest draws to Friendship are the restaurants and the stores. The two most popular restaurants are the Cheesecake Factory and Maggiono%u2019s Little Italy. Both are very good, and there is a wait every night of the week, so in most cases you NEED a reservation.
Stores at Friendship Heights include Lohnman%u2019s, Hecht%u2019s, Borders, and Linens and Things. Those are just the %u201Cstreet%u201D options. There is the smaller %u201CFriendship Heights%u201D mall was has an Ann Taylor loft, and a World Market. Across the street from Cheesecake Factory is the larger mall, Mazda Gallery, which include Williams-Sonoma and the movie theater.
Going by subway is also the best way because there are many exits from the subway station which can but you nearest your destination. For your dinning/ shopping pleasure, Friendship Heights is one the DC neighborhoods that is a MUST to visit!
Friendship Heights is a fancy place, with some of the most expensive shopping in D.C. It's still a laid back neighborhood, and about a half hour commute to downtown D.C. The restaurant scene here is growing, and it would be a great place to live because of the movie theater and lots of shopping here. Some of the area's single family homes are for rent, and if you get together with a few friends and live somewhere, it is totally affordable.

It's a pricey area to live, to be sure. One bedrooms start around $1,200 and go up from there. However, the community is very safe, and most of the apartment buildings are fairly new. Also, there is more space here than in the heart of the city. Here, you get what you pay for.
Parking in Friendship Heights is terrible. There is almost no street parking, and the garages are expensive. Even the grocery stores charge (unless you get it validated).
