Overview
(edit)

Beautiful, beautiful, Maidu.
This tucked away area of southeast Roseville really is one of those places where complete strangers feel compelled to meet one another.
The city has leaped hurdles to preserve the wildlife in the Maidu area, and the giant Maidu park isn't the only thing to show for it. The neighborhood has kept the enormous trees that now line the roadways, offering sanctuary from the craziness of the surrounding mess of plastic strip-malls and stop lights.
Home to around 2600 happy people, Maidu is purely a residential area (aside from the gigantic park). This place isn't generally known for great shopping or dining, but everywhere else around here is. This place is known for peace. If you want that other stuff, there's easy access to downtown Roseville, I-80 towards Sacramento, or north towards Rocklin. A great place for either a quiet life of meditation or raising a whole, run-all-about kind of family.

Maidu is such a great place to grow up near. Not only do you have a great place to run, but it is safe even though coyotes roam free there at night. It has fields for anyone to use (my family holds the annual thanksgiving football game there each year) and free baseball games anyone can attend during the hot summer nights. Within the last couple years they put in a hockey rink, but I am old school and remember the playground and dugouts better.

What a beauitful park with so many things you can do! They have a library, museum, community center, rose garden, skate track, playground, picnic areas, bike trail, softball complex, batting cages, soccer fields, basket ball court, easy to find: drinking fountains and bathrooms... Wow...
Oh Yeah, the best part. Walking trails, Its one of the few parks in Roseville (beside the kind of sad dog park) that dogs are allowed. But only on the trails.
What an all round nice place.
