Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville is home to many types of people who are a mix of the old south and newer transplants from other parts of the United States. When most people think of Nashville they think of the Home of Country Music, which it certainly is, but a closer look reveals a vibrant indy music scene with diverse acts ranging from christian music groups like Not Ashamed, to indy Rock groups The Protomen. On the east side of Nashville you have a younger more art and creative community and on the west part you have the wealthy old money and recently rich business owners. Two higher educational centers of note are Vanderbilt and Belmont and around both you will find a thriving youthful collection of restaurants and things to buy and go see. 5th Avenue downtown has many Art Galleries and hosts Nashville's "Art Crawl" once a month on Saturday night where you can get and eye full of diverse people and fill your belly with free wine and finger foods. So if you are Jack White, or someone unknown you can always find a friendly place to hang out in Nashville, a big city with a small town appeal.
