Overview
(edit)
Midlothian, VA, located on the eastern border of state road 288 and nearby Richmond, is a community that seems to have it all. Apartment living in this lovely town is quite diverse with its interesting combination of renovated, historical structures (as seen in the Old Buckingham Station Apartments) to new upscale residences. The town was originally founded in pre-Revolutionary War times (1730) as the first commercial coal mining settlement. The community experienced further development as the railroad lines were installed in the 1800's. In both 2005 and 2008, Midlothian was voted in the top places to live in America. This home of Patriot Patrick Henry proclaims itself as an outstanding place to visit or reside for all ages. This upscale town with its larger population of wealthier individuals has created an influx of investment firms to the area (total population 35,000). Midlothian is located a short distance to several famous colleges (University of Richmond, College of William & Mary and University of Virginia).
