Overview
(edit)
The south side runs from Southern to Baseline, bisected by US 60/Superstition Freeway. Most of this area is given way to retail and industrial, but there are a few pockets of residential neighborhoods.
The largest of these is in the area from Gilbert to Val Vista. Here you'll find average middle class homes in quiet neighborhoods. There are a couple of spectacular homes down along Southern, large ranch-style horse properties.
Anyone residing in the south section of town will have quick and easy access to US 60, as well as plenty of shopping and entertainment nearby. The Mesa Grand complex at Stapley and Baseline Roads (northeast corner) is a very busy, vibrant shopping area, with several restaurants, an AMC 24-plex theater, Walmart, Office Max, Petsmart and more. The southwest corner of the same intersection is actually in Gilbert, but the shopping there is great, too. Here you'll find Kohl's, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Sports Authority and more.
Apartments start at $700 and can go as high as $1400, depending on the complex and amenities and most homes range between $150,000 to $225,000.
