 Overview (edit)

Green Valley North is the oldest section of the Green Valley area in Henderson. Most homes and apartment complexes were constructed in the 1980s and early 1990s. As a result of their age, the landscaping in this area is mature and beautiful. Trees throughout apartment complexes off Mountain Vista, East Sunset, High View and Green Valley Parkway offer actual shade - a rarity in the desert!

There are large commercial complexes in Green Valley North. Most are located on the far eastern end of Sunset and on Patrick Lane. The area offers all the amentias anyone could hope for, within a short drive or walk. Not that you want to walk anywhere in the summer months, keep in mind this is Las Vegas and they don't lie about the heat. It is hot. Located within a short distance are myriad options for groceries, gyms, casinos, movie theatres, restaurants, bars, bowling alleys, hairdressers and spas, parks and public recreation areas. The Whitney Ranch Aquatic/Recreation Center is located very nearby and offers many classes and programs for children and adults.

Single-family houses are available both to rent and to buy. Renters can find some great deals on spacious, beautiful houses for around $1500 a month right now.

The bus lines in the neighborhood include the 111 along Green Valley and Pecos, the 212 along Sunset, the 114 along Mountain Vista, and the 217 along Warm Springs. The 111 and the 212 run every half hour, but the 114 and the  217 only run once every hour.

Shop around for a good deal; prices vary quite a bit even though the apartment complexes are generally fairly similar. Also, look for move-in specials, including a month’s free rent.

Green Valley North, like most of Henderson, is pet-friendly. Of course, renters have to pay extra money in deposits and monthly fees. In addition to the parks in the area, most apartment complexes have some nice paths where you can walk your dog.

Chocolate enthusiasts will enjoy Ethel’s Chocolate Lounge. Visitors can go on a self-guided tour of the chocolate factory, too. Outside, the cactus garden features a beautiful assortment of desert plants. The garden has also become the home of many animals, including rabbits, quail, and lizards.

West Sunset, Mountain Vista, and Green Valley are all great locations. Shops and entertainment are very close by, but these areas are primarily residential. The entire neighborhood is nice, though, so you really can’t go wrong.

Everything you need can be found along East Sunset and Green Valley.  Grocery stores include Trader Joe’s, Smith’s, and Food 4 Less.
