Overview
(edit)
Just 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas, and a short 30 minute commute to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport, is the community of Garland Texas. Although it maintains its small town atmosphere, approximately 230,000 residents call Garland home. The historic downtown is going through a revival of sorts, due in large part to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit systems (DART) arrival. Garlands' downtown boasts an arts center, great restaurants, shops and entertainment. Just a short drive to the Corder Lake area with its award winning parks, trails, recreational areas, and high quality golf courses, Garland residents have an array of outdoor activities to enjoy.
The Garland Independent School District is the second largest district in Dallas County and is considered one of the best school districts in the state. Couple all of the above with a wide variety of housing options and you can see why its residents love the area.

BEWARE OF LINCOLN PROPERTIES in Dallas area Here's my story: please take some of your valuable time to read it. I advocate for people who need help, any kind of help. My disabled Client lives with her 15-year old son at a Lincoln Property managed apartment in the Dallas Texas area. She had surgery on her back and now wears a Tens Pack on her side for pain. She also takes oxycontin, oxycodone, methadone, cymbalta, and tinanidine.I have seen her struggle to walk across her apartment as she went to get her driver's license for me. Her rent is due the 1st through the 3rd at midnight of each month. If she is late, she is charged $75.00 plus $10.00 every day she is late. Her short-term disability check is cut on the 9th and is delivered to about the 14th. My Client's Claim Coordinator gave Lincoln Properties a letter describing her disability. That meant my Client was to be allowed to pay her monthly rent about the 14th of of each month without any penalties. When a new manager started work, Lincoln Properties reneged. My Client is paying a $75.00 penalty with $10.00 a day late fee until her disability check arrives. That amount averages about $218.00 a month—that's a total of about $1000.00 she could have used to feed herself and son. I have called and written Lincoln—pleading for them to give her credit for past penalty fees since October and allow her, in the future, to pay Lincoln the day she gets her disability check. No one is ever “in” according to the receptionist. Guess no one works there? Huh? Don't rent from Lincoln Properties. Humanity is a disease to them. They thrive on carnage.
