Houston Area

I have lived here since 1996 and love the city. NOT the prettiest, but definitely offers everything a person could possibly want to get into. Industrial meets Cosmopolitan is the best way to describe it.

Webster, Texas is located midway between downtown Houston and Galveston with Interstate 45, Bay Area Boulevard, and NASA Parkway as its central corridors. The city is internationally known for NASAs Johnson Space Center, along with Space Center Houston. Rental pricing is very reasonable for the area, depending on location and amenities. Webster is home to many amenities including restaurants, grocery stores, shopping opportunities and restaurants. The area is zoned to the Clear Creek Independent School District.

I believe that Spring is the best area of Houston, Texas to live in. Although Spring is not in the heart of Houston, it is definitely heartwarming to live there. If you like the convenience of being close to town, enjoying all the same amenities as you would in town, and enjoying plenty of space, then Spring is the place for you. Spring, TX is about fifteen miles from the downtown area and convenient to alot of attractions and amenities in Houston. For Example: Splash Town, Woodlands Mall and Willow Brook Mall, Bush Intercontinental Airport, and many fabulous restaurants are to name a few. You can be sure enjoy driving trips in Spring, TX, due to less congestion on the roads and minimal traffic. The district schools are exemplary, looking and functioning like small colleges. On a scale of one to ten, I give Spring an eleven. Everyone should consider visiting Spring before moving in the Houston area.

Stafford Texas is a small city located in the Houston-Baytown-Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city itself is mostly located in Fort Bend County, with just a small bit in Harris County. Due to its abundance of revenue-generating industry and prime business location between Sugar Land and Houston, Stafford has perhaps one of the most distinctive and financially strong municipal governments in the state of Texas. The city was once known as merely a "bedroom community", but has since grown to a very desirable spot to live.

Sitting only 30 minutes shy of Houston is the lush suburb of Pearland, Texas. Humble is a city in Harris County, Texas within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. It is important to note that the name of this city is pronounced "'Umble", dropping the "H". The first settlers began moving into the Humble area in the early 1800s, and soon after a ferry was built nearby, bringing more residents to the area. Humble became an oil boom town in the early 1900s when oil was first produced there. The oil fields are still active, and are a popular industry. The city of Humble is still growing, especially with job opportunities so close by, including Bush International Airport and the aforementioned oil industries. New homes and apartments are being built every year, and the established homes and communities are in great condition. Humble is served by the Humble Independent School District and Lone Star College System. Family friendly activities, such as parks, libraries and a water park, are all located within the city. For additional activities, Houston is only a 20 minute drive away.

Cypress, northwest of downtown Houston along US Highway 290, is one of the area's largest surburban communities with population just over 732,546 persons.  The area is also known as Cy-Fair, from the consolidation of Cypress and Fairbanks education programs creating the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. 

Tomball, Texas is a small city located in northern Harris County. This area was founded in the early 1800s by immigrants who found that the land was perfect for farming. 1909 saw the area come alive with the addition of a train station. Soon after, more and more people began to settle in this small community, and with that brought hotels, new homes, mercantile stores and mills. Tomball grows larger every year, with new people discovering the small city located just outside of a much larger one. Tomball Independent School district is an accredited district, with many educational options for families looking to live here. Entertainment options are also plentiful, as Tomball is home to many stores, restaurants, and family friendly attractions. New homes and apartments are being built each year, and are very affordable.

Friendswood is a city in Galveston and Harris Counties within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metropolitan Area. The area is home to many established communities, and with the continued expansion of Houston suburban cities, more and more are being built each year. Friendswood is zoned to either Friendswood Independent School District or Clear Creek Independent School District, depending on the neighborhood. Both districts are accredited, and have many choices for both primary and high school. Even though the city itself is more of a "bedroom community", Within a thirty minute drive residents can attend cultural, educational and recreational events.

Clute is a small city located in Brazoria County. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was just over 10,000. Depsite the size of this "city", Clute is famous for many things. The city was the site of a wooly mammoth fossil find and is also home of the Mosquito Festival. This city is quite small, in both population and area. The total area is roughly 5.6 square miles, with .6 of that being water. Clute is known to be a nice, quiet place to raise a family. If you are looking to live far from the city and close to the beach, this is the town for you.

Alvin, Texas is a suburb twenty five miles southeast of the greater Houston Metropolitan Area. It has a population of 22,000, providing a wide range of affordable apartments.Baseball fans will love Alvin. Find an apartment within walking distance of the Nolan Ryan Museum. Hall of Famer Ryan moved to the city as an infant and lived there until 2003. The Nolan Ryan Museum is on the campus of Alvin Community College.Alvin, Texas is a town where growth and development have been guided by its community members. New apartment residents will enjoy its hometown feeling and modern amenities.

Cleveland, Texas is located in Liberty County. Cleveland is 46 miles north of Houston and the coast and 224 miles south of Dallas. Cleveland has a population of roughly 8,000 residents. Cleveland borders the Sam Houston National Forest. Cleveland is the meeting point for two rail lines; the north/south Union Pacific line and the east/west Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line. Cleveland takes great pride in the fact that it maintains a hometown feel. Cleveland is a safe, family oriented city with a lot to offer anyone desiring an oasis from a larger city. Although it doesn't offer much in fine dinning or shopping, there are enough mom-and-pop restaurants and small boutiques to keep anyone happy. The cost of living is relative to the areas average median wages, with affordable real estate and rental properties. The cost of housing is lower than the rest of Texas, making it an affordable place for a wide array of people.

Known as a city of neighborhoods, Bellaire is a largely residential community completely surrounded by Houston, West University Place, and Southside Place in southwest Harris County. Located on Interstate Loop 610, Bellaire is in a perfect location for those looking for a lovely residential experience near to Houston.Bellaire has a moderate population of a little over 15,000people, and enjoys a high median income of over $100,000 per household. Considered a "city of homes," it was actually ranked the 27th wealthiest location in Texas by per capita income. Basically, this is one nice suburb. Though there are small shopping centers sprinkled around the city and an adequate amount of essentials like grocery stores, gas stations and others, much of the high rise and commercial businesses are focused on Loop 610, with much of the interior of the city taken up by clean, nicely-kept residential streets. Prices of housing in Bellaire vary. Older homes can start at a low $175,000 and go up to the millions. Newer constructed homes can start from the $400,000s and go into the millions as well. You'll also find larger, estate-like homes sprinkled throughout the city. Home sizes as well as lot sizes vary pretty wildly in the city. Renters might seek this city out too if they are looking for a safe, clean alternative to living directly in Houston. Though prices aren't a steal, you can find one bedroom apartments that start at $650 - $700 a month, but also some that start over a $1000 a month. Houses are also available for rent, with typical prices for 2 and 3 bedroom rentable houses.Though it might not be the most happening suburb of Houston, Bellaire has its own rich history and a lot of benefits like safety, cleanliness and proximity to Houston.
